Our traditional establishment embodies the noblest of British Isles Institutions: the local pub. Historically, the public house is an abode of welcome to all who come in search of solace, sustenance, and a drop of good cheer. Free from the gaze of the television’s all-numbing eye, the conversation is king. Merriment, music and a little of Merlin's magic ease the cares of the day towards the pleasures of the evening. Whether your needs are a good meal, a glass of fine wine, a tipple of malt whiskey, or merely a pint or two and a chat with the locals, Merlins Rest Pub is your “home away from home” — just bring your heart.
Our food and drink
Merlins Rest Pub features a wide selection of import taps and authentic spirits. The pub has the largest selection of single malt scotches and Irish whiskeys in Minnesota (many of which are showcased during our monthly scotch tastings, October – June). We have hand-crafted each of the recipes for our diverse menu, and our kitchen team is constantly creating new dishes and desserts. We feature top-quality pub plates, including classics such as Fish & Chips, Cottage Pie, Cornish Pastry, and Bangers & Mash. And of course, English Toffee Pudding with Birds Custard.

Merlins Rest Pub sits comfortably on the corner of E. Lake St. and 36th Ave. in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis (about one mile west along Lake Street from the Mississippi River) we are only 10 minutes from Minneapolis, St. Paul, or Bloomington. We have fast and free wi-fi, great food, tasty pints, and one of the Twin Cities’ best whisky selections, many are available as a dram or full measure. We have a Single Malt Scotch Tasting on the first Thursday that may interest the scotch enthusiasts.
