So much to tell you!

First, this is the 1100th posting to the website’s blog. Henry I was crowned in 1100, by the way. And, if you’d like more interesting history (esp. of the On This Day sort), please be sure to follow Merlins Rest on Facebook! It’s a pleasant sort of education there.

So much to tell you about! Some special prices, musician announcements, the return of Blind Darts, a couple grand Half-Way to Saint Patrick’s Day items to keep you abreast of, and one big ol’ roast. Here’s the skinny:

THURSDAY NIGHT
Sept 8

Jack Klatt & the Cat Swingers, circa 10:00 pm

FRIDAY NIGHT

Kilt & Corset Night! And live Irish music.

SATURDAY NIGHT

How could we possibly make Papa John and the Hot Club any better? We add Clint Hoover to the mix (9:00 pm)

The Publican’s Present
September 12-18

Oh, hello there. Looks like our publican has a birthday on September 13!  And, to celebrate, we’re having specials all week on two classic English pints: Old Speckled Hen (which Elvis Costello adores) and Fullers ESB. Get on tap for $4.50 a pint. Lovely stuff from back home!

TUESDAY
Sept 13

The Blind Dart League is back! We have been fortunate enough to be a regular venue (and have been home to some awesome teams). The Blind Dart League is a blast. Let fly, my friends!

THURSDAY
Sept 15

Half-Way to Saint Patrick’s Day Whiskey Tasting! Though the big party is Saturday night, a whiskey tasting was certainly called for. Take part at 7:30 pm. This may be a crowded one, though, so please consider calling the pub to potentially reserve a spot: 612 216 2419.

SATURDAY
September 17

Dear god! We’re half-way to Saint Patrick’s Day. What better excuse for a party? We’ll be serving up traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner starting at 4:00 pm. Enjoy our braised in Black Butte Porter Corned Beef Brisket as the star!

Coming in October
The Sunday Roast!!

Every Sunday in October we will serve up Traditional Roast Dinner including vegetables, potatoes and yorkshire pudding! More details to come soon. Needless to say, this is an autumnal classic.
