Birds, Staving, Jams

Congratulations, by the way, to our softball team! They played their first game yesterday and won 17 - 3. Somebody's been drinking his Guinness....

We had a blisteringly busy and delightful weekend. Thanks to all (including our Town Crier and the Morris Dancers) for taking part. It was a blast celebrating Merlins Rest Day and St. George’s Day. Cheers! But there’s no rest for the wonderfully wicked, so here we are: Tuesday:

* Birds & Beers (6:30 pm) – Minnesota’s best birding group has been rained out at their originally planned “tailgate” location, so on short notice they’ve encouraged members to gather here at 5:30 tonight. Lovely. We have been fortunate enough to welcome them here in the pub on many occasions and always enjoy their company.

** Staving Music (7:00 pm) – A true sign of our eclectic community. Kari Tauring leads this traditional Norwegian staving music hour. Fantastic stuff, unique and encourages all to take up this form.

*** The Open Jam (8:30 pm) – So many fine musicians call Merlins their local. And, in the British and Celtic Isles’ spirit of sharing one’s creative energy, we hold an open jam every Tuesday night. Bring your favorite instrument, your dulcet tones, your thirst for the best of the Cities pints, etc. Enjoy and feel free to join in.

Don’t forget! We are on Facebook. Share your thoughts with us, post photos of visits, wish your pals cheers, and all that other stuff one can do in the FB.
