Many Happy Returns

My apologies on missing an update of the site yesterday. Some light travel is having its way with my brain, it seems.

Right!

MINNEAPOLIS ROWING CLUB
Friday, 5:30 pm

The Minneapolis Rowing Club will hold its Season Opener Social Event here at Merlins on Friday night, May 1, beginning at 5:30 pm. Writes yer rowing man, Sean: “Now that the river’s come down and water temps have gone up, please remind yourself what your crewmates look like at your almost-local watering hole, Merlin’s Rest this Friday 5.30pm.”

Agreed!

Come down and meet these fine people, as the cries shall not be “Stroke! Stroke! Stroke!” but “Pint! Pint! Pint!”

FILMS AT MERLINS REST:
The Martini Matinees Are Coming

Merlins Rest is excited to invite you to a cultured afternoon of art and entertainment at the Pub! On Sunday, 31 May 2009, we’ll launch our Merlins Martini Matinee series (3:00 – 6:00 pm). This film showcase supports the local film community, its artists and tradespersons. We strive to offer a wide variety of feature films, shorts, music videos and animations.

Film makers are invited to host Q & A sessions after their showing to discuss their creative impulses. Take this opportunity to get your work shown and network with other film people in a fun, casual atmosphere… oh yeah, with martinis! We look forward to receiving your films. If you have any questions, please contact us through this website.

CALL FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS

Merlins Martini Matinee is a film showcase that promotes and provides exposure to the works of Minnesota film makers. Submissions for Merlin’s Martini Matinee are open to Minnesota natives, residents and ex-pats. We will also accept submissions of work produced in or about Minnesota by out-of-state film makers.

A submission form can be downloaded in PDF here.

Please take a moment to review. And we hope to have your film in our series!

Films to be shown must be completed works. Merlins Rest management is responsible for the selection and programming for the Matinee and may, at its discretion, select films from outside of those submitted in order to round out the program.
