December 10: Wednesday Pub Quiz – Time Change

Tonight: Watkins Wednesday Pub Quiz
Time: 8:00 pm

PLEASE NOTE that tonight’s Wednesday Pub Quiz will move 30 minutes to 8:00 pm for this week only. We are starting a touch later so that our friends from the Minnesota Scottish Fair & Highland Games can meet a bit longer before we let Bill Watkins bellow out the questions.

(Hmm. Do you think he’ll use a Scottish theme on his questions? There’s a strong possibility, methinks.)

Right! So join us tonight for 25 questions and whatever suits your fancy: keep warm with a Guinness, tuck into some gorgeous lamb stew, etc. It’s Isles pub fare and it’s here. You should be too!

The quiz is free and fun to play. See you tonight!

Birsds & Beers, December 11

Sharon Stiteler, who many of you know as the Birdchick, has announced that the next Birds & Beers gathering will be held at Merlins on Thursday, December 11, at 6:00 pm. Birds & Beers is an informal gathering of birders of all ages. If you’re a hardcore lister or a casual backyard birder or someone who just wants to know what this whole birding thing is about, then you’re invited.

Join ‘em and join us!

REMINDER:
Knit Night, December 12

It seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly.

For those interested in learning more or perhaps joining them, they’ll be here Friday, December 12 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In the meantime, check out Ravelry.com. It’s a wonderful resource for knitting and a well-done website. Look for the Crafty in Minnesota participants. Another site you might explore is Etsy.com, where you can find a good number of Minnesotans posting their handmade work for sale.

AFTER WORK SPECIALS
Monday through Thursday

Whether it’s been a hard day or a really lovely one, we invite you up for after work specials here at Merlins Rest. From 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, we’re offering $3.75 import pints; and we’ve got some of the best: Guinness, Belhaven, Fuller’s, etc. Other beer and liquor specials will be available too, as will food specials on cheese dips, lamb chops and more.
