December 6: the Hot Club

Tonight: Papa John Kolstad and the Hot Club of East Lake
Time: 9:00 pm

Blimey! That was a bit of chill this morning, wasn’t it? But we’ve got just what you need to warm up and enjoy your late autumn / early winter days: pub food and pints!

TONIGHT:
THE HOT CLUB

This evening we’ve got one of our favorite acts: Papa John Kolstad and the Hot Club of East Lake! These cats can lay down the tunes. Beautiful energy. They really are a class act and perfect for a Saturday evening. Music starts about 9:00 pm.

See you tonight!

Birsds & Beers, December 11

Sharon Stiteler, who many of you know as the Birdchick, has announced that the next Birds & Beers gathering will be held at Merlins on Thursday, December 11, at 6:00 pm. Birds & Beers is an informal gathering of birders of all ages. If you’re a hardcore lister or a casual backyard birder or someone who just wants to know what this whole birding thing is about, then you’re invited.

Join ‘em and join us!

REMINDER:
Knit Night, December 12

It seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly.

For those interested in learning more or perhaps joining them, they’ll be here Friday, December 12 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In the meantime, check out Ravelry.com. It’s a wonderful resource for knitting and a well-done website. Look for the Crafty in Minnesota participants. Another site you might explore is Etsy.com, where you can find a good number of Minnesotans posting their handmade work for sale.
