NEXT KNIT NIGHT
December 12

It seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly.

For those interested in learning more or perhaps joining them, they’ll be here Friday, December 12 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In the meantime, check out Ravelry.com. It’s a wonderful resource for knitting and a well-done website. Look for the Crafty in Minnesota participants. Another site you might explore is Etsy.com, where you can find a good number of Minnesotans posting their handmade work for sale.

SONGS FOR THE SOLSTICE
December 17

Songs for the Solstice, featuring local folk rock band Rève du faun, will be presented at 9 p.m., Wednesday, December 17 at Merlin’s Rest. The event is a benefit on behalf of Twin Cities Pagan Pride. Rève du faun’s repertoire includes popular tunes from the 17th through the 20th centuries. Their signature sound of female harmonies are influenced by traditional Celtic music, classic rock and roll, and the folk movement of the 1950s and ’60s.The band makes their home in the Twin Cities and performs annually at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. In 2004, the band won the title of “Best Musical Act.” Performing with the group will be special guest drummer Steve Spaise, another popular Twin Cities musical artist.

Twin Cities Pagan Pride is a Pagan Pride event serving the Twin Cities area. The event, held every fall, covers two days and offers attendees activities including public rituals, kids’ events, vendors and entertainment. Pagan Pride is a Minnesota-based 501(c)3 educational organization; donations to their events and organization are tax-deductible.
