November 21: Kilt Night with Live Irish Music

Tonight: Kilt Night with Live Irish Music
Time: 8:30 pm

It’s cold, you say? Never fear! We’ve got plenty of pints, plates of pub food, and good cheer to warm you right up.

It’s Friday and Fridays are a lovely thing. It’s Kilt Night! Join us for the weekly hoolie, friends, and the live Irish music in the traditional Isles-pub style: no mics, no amps. Just some of the Cities’ finest session musicians playing about a table or two in the bar and mingling with the people.

Great tunes and a really wonderful way to spirit into the weekend. Grab a Guinness and a cottage pie or maybe some Welsh lollipops and enjoy.

November 23

Scottish Authors and Music at Merlins Rest. Join us and Minnesota Scottish authors Bill Watkins (A Celtic Childhood, Scotland Is Not for the Squeamish, and The Once and Future Celt), Jack and Barbara Maloney (The Wee Mad Road), Barbara and Jack MacKinnon (Where Rivers Meet) and Audrey McClellan for a bit of books and music fun. Dunquin will provide the music. The authors will be discussing their books, Scotland and Scottish life, and all things Scottish! The event will take place from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
