November 13: Mosher/Ekstrand and Special Events

Tonight: Mosher/Ekstrand Experiment
Time: 9:00 pm

Every second Thursday of a month, one of our favorite music duos plays: it’s Mosher/Ekstrand Experiment!

They are treasures, those two. They’ll play an eclectic mix that ranges from folk to blues. Toss in a dash of rock and a jazz to taste and you’ve got a dynamite evening.

Music on Thursday at 9:00 pm. Cheers!

SPECIAL EVENTS & GATHERINGS

We’ve a number of special events coming up to tell you about. Give a look:

November 14, Friday, 4:00 – 7:00 pm – Knit Night! It seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly. Everyone welcomed.

November 15, Saturday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm – Doctor Who Meetup Group
Whovians unite! We always love to see our friends in the Minneapolis Doctor Who Meetup Group. Fantastic group; great fun. Join ‘em if you’ve got even a casual interest in the series (then or now). It’s free and fun.

November 18, Tuesday, 6:00 pm – Birds & Beers Gathering

The Birdchick has announced the next Birds & Beers gathering over on her Birdchick blog. We’ll welcome Sharon Stiteler and friends back in the pub on Tuesday, November 18, at 6:00 pm. Birds and Beers is an informal gathering of birders of all ages. If you’re a hardcore lister or a casual backyard birder or someone who just wants to know what this whole birding thing is about, then you’re invited.

November 23, Sunday – Scottish Authors and Music at Merlins Rest. Join us and Minnesota Scottish authors Bill Watkins (A Celtic Childhood, Scotland Is Not for the Squeamish, and The Once and Future Celt), Jack and Barbara Maloney (The Wee Mad Road), Barbara and Jack MacKinnon (Where Rivers Meet) and Audrey McClellan for a bit of books and music fun. Dunquin will provide the music. The authors will be discussing their books, Scotland and Scottish life, and all things Scottish! The event will take place from approximately 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
