October 7: Birds & the Beers!
Oct 7th, 2008 by Merlin

Tonight: The Birds and the Beers Gathering
Time: 6:00 pm
The Birdchick is back! We welcome Sharon Stiteler and friends tonight in the pub.
Birds and Beers is an informal gathering of birders of all ages. If you’re a hardcore lister or a casual backyard birder or someone who just wants to know what this whole birding thing is about, then you’re invited.
Join ‘em and join us!
NEXT KNIT NIGHT
It seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly.
For those interested in learning more or perhaps joining them, they’ll be here Friday, October 10 from about 4:00 - 7:00 pm. In the meantime, check out Ravelry.com. It’s a wonderful resource for knitting and a well-done website. Look for the Crafty in Minnesota participants. Another site you might explore is Etsy.com, where you can find a good number of Minnesotans posting their handmade work for sale.
AFTER WORK SPECIALS
Monday through Thursday
Whether it’s been a hard day or a really lovely one, we invite you up for after work specials here at Merlins Rest. From 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, we’re offering $3.75 import pints–and we’ve got some of the best: Guinness, Belhaven, Fuller’s, etc. Other beer and liquor specials will be available too, as will food specials on cheese dips, lamb chops and more. We’re even going to throw in some prize drawings.
