October 4 & 5: Weekend Planner

It’s the weekend, and there’s a bit of a chilly stillness to the air, but we’re keeping it warm and vibrant in the pub. Here’s what going on:

BRUNCH Saturday and Sunday, our raved-about and ravenously enjoyed brunch is served from 12:00 – 2 pm on Saturday and 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Sunday. Traditional Irish and UK fare, some American classics and an original or two as the fancy strikes the kitchen staff.

SATURDAY NIGHT JAZZ – Usually we’ve got the Hot Club of East Lake providing the jazz on Saturday night, but a few of them have competing commitments this week. Instead, they’ve arranged a fabulous “jingo jazz” replacement for the pub. So pop up and give a listen to what the Hot Club highly recommends. Music starts about 9:00 pm. Sip a whisky, savor a pint, and tell some stories with the cats and kittens at the bar. Enjoy the music and the weekend, friends. (Special thanks to Depak!)

PUB QUIZSunday night brings forth the pub quiz with our very own Welsh torturemaster John Dingley! He’s recovered–I think–from entering 40 guests from back home, so expect him to be in unusually vibrant voice this weekend. About the quiz: 25 questions, teams of up to 4. This is one of the only legitimate British Isles-style pub quizzes in the Cities. Bring your friends or make new ones. Quiz starts at 8 pm sharpish.

SAM’S SANDWICHSunday night, an hour before and 30 minutes following the pub quiz, yer man Sam Fiske provides the music. This is a weekly crowd favorite, so don’t miss it!

Happy days!
