October 3: Live Irish Music & Updates on Birds and Knitting Needles

Tonight: Kilt Night with Live Irish Music
Time: 9:00 pm

Tonight is Kilt Night! It’s Friday, so join us for the weekly hoolie. Kilt Night fun features live Irish music in the traditional Isles-pub style: no mics, no amps. Just some of the Cities’ finest musicians playing about a table or two in the bar and mingling with the people. Great tunes and a really wonderful way to spirit into the weekend. Grab a Guinness and a cottage pie or maybe some Welsh lollipops and enjoy.

On Tuesday, October 7 at 6:00 pm, we’ll welcome back the next Birds and Beers gathering with Sharon Stiteler, a.k.a. the Birdchick. Please note that this is a different day of the week than previous B&B gatherings.

Birds and Beers is an informal gathering of birders of all ages. If you’re a hardcore lister or a casual backyard birder or someone who just wants to know what this whole birding thing is about, then you’re invited.

Join ‘em and join us!

It seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly.

For those interested in learning more or perhaps joining them, they’ll be here Friday, October 10 from about 4:00 – 7:00 pm. In the meantime, check out Ravelry.com. It’s a wonderful resource for knitting and a well-done website. Look for the Crafty in Minnesota participants. Another site you might explore is Etsy.com, where you can find a good number of Minnesotans posting their handmade work for sale.
