September 23: The Folk Jam – 7:30 pm

Tonight: The Weekly Folk Jam
Time: 7:30 pm

Right! Just back from my first Swedish class of the fall. Jaha!

But it takes all kinds, doesn’t it? Speaking of which: we’ve got a gaggle of Welsh arriving next week. More about that tomorrow. In the meantime, those of you with iPhones might search the App Store for the Welsh-English dictionary. For a scant 99 cents, you get a dictionary with 15,000 pairs. Amaze your friends and bamboozle your elders!

So: tonight we’ll be having our regular mid-week fun, and we’ve even (permanently) moved it up a day. It’s the Merlins Rest Folk Jam. Bill Watkins and friends will be in the pub, and many of them will come armed with guitars, mandolins, or whatever other noisemaker strikes ‘em. It’s all about the Muse on Tuesday nights now. It’s free, informal, and loads of fun. Folk music and jamming as it ought to be.

Music starts around 7:30 pm.

Monday through Thursday

From 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, we’re offering $3.75 import pints–and we’ve got some of the best: Guinness, Belhaven, Fuller’s, etc. Other beer and liquor specials will be available too, as will food specials on cheese dips, lamb chops and more. We’re even going to throw in some prize drawings.
