Friday: Knitters, Kilts & Live Irish Music

Kilt Night and Live Irish Music in MinneapolisTonight: Kilt Night with Live, Traditional Irish Music
Time: 8:00 pm

The Irish Fair opens today over on Harriet Island. For those attending today or this weekend, we hope you’ll come back to the pub afterwards and share your stories of the good times. Tonight would be a great night to do it!

We’ve got Kilt Night and live, traditional Irish music. So visit the fair, support the Lóma Mór Irish Dance Club (who will have buttons with a nice Merlins Rest mark on the back!), and join us for the evening’s hoolie.

Cheers!

BUT FIRST…THE KNITTERS!

Knitting Groups in MinneapolisIt seems a curious sight, but it’s an absolute blast. Knitters from the Twin Cities gather here at Merlins every month or two to trade stories, further their skills, and, all in all, take down a few pints. We love ‘em dearly. Really great fun.

For those interested in learning more or perhaps joining them, they’ll be here tonight, August 8, from about 4:30 – 7:00 pm. In the meantime, check out Ravelry.com. It’s a wonderful resource for knitting and a well-done website. Look for the Crafty in Minnesota participants.

Another site you might explore is Etsy.com, where you can find a good number of Minnesotans posting their handmade work for sale.
