Don’t forget, good friends, that the Irish Fair returns to the Twin Cities this weekend: August 8 – 10, Harriet Island. It’s a grand event loaded with fantastic food, dance, dogs, beer and culture.
We hope you all will give a little of your weekend time to visiting the fair and celebrating the Irish community that has so greatly enriched Minnesota.
And be sure to visit the Crossroas Tent and take Irish ceili or set-dancing class! Or even join in the big dance with live, traditional Irish music. They’ll even have buttons for you, our friend Paul reports. (Look for the Merlins mark on the back of the buttons!)
You’ll have a blast, we swear. For more information on the dancing, please visit the group’s home page.
And after you visit the fair, we invite you all up to Merlins Rest. Tell us your tales and raise a pint!Â
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT…
The latest issue of The Irish Gazette has plenty of info on the Irish Fair and not just Minnesota’s Irish but Wisconsin’s Irish resources (including, for example, IrishFest La Crosse, which also takes place 8-10 August 2008). Get your copy of the Gazette here at the pub.
AND DON’T FORGET…
Fiona, aka the Whisky Wench, invites all to our next Single-Malt Scotch Tasting on Thursday, August 7 at 7:30 pm. The details:
* $25 flat fee to participate
* 4 – 5 grand pours from our extensive stock
It’s great fun and really really great scotch. Cheers to the Wench! She’s an absolute gem. Bring your friends or tell your enemies.
