Tonight: Specialist Pub Quiz
Time: 7:30 pm
Music: The Folk Jam follows the Quiz
So much going on these days! On Thursday, July 10, we’ve got the next Single-Malt Scotch Tasting with the Whisky Wench (aka, Fiona). That starts at 7:30 pm tomorrow and costs $25 to participate. Four to five grand pours are provided, as it much discussion and laughter.
On Friday afternoon / early evening, knitters from across the Twin Cities will descend upon the pub, some armed not only with needles but spinning wheels! This group is free and fun to join. They’ll be here 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, July 11. Anywhere between 15 -25 usually participate. Plenty of stories told and pints raised all about. Great group.
Next week, on July 18, the Lake Street Council will hold a business-to-business social event here in the pub from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Lovely! Get to know your fellow businesses, friends.
And on July 19 at 4:00 pm, the Doctor Who Meetup Group of Minneapolis will be here. All are welcomed.
CAUGHT ON THE WEBÂ
Over at the MinnesotaLindy.com, they’ve had a little discussion about none other than our Saturday night band: Papa John Kolstad and the Hot Club of East Lake. Fantastic sounds! Worth a listen.
TONIGHT: SPECIALIST PUB QUIZ
Tonight we’ve got the Specialist Pub Quiz at 7:30 pm. It’s the other side to Dingley’s Torture, the first being his Sunday night quiz.
The Wednesday Specialist Pub Quiz has a guiding theme or topic…but that topic is announced only as a surprise at the outset of the quiz. Gah! But it’s worth it.
Each week John Dingley, our Welsh publican, puts up to $40 in the pot. You get 1 point for each quiz you participate in and those points are added to your aggregate score (quiz score + participation points). We someone scores 50 on the aggregate, they win the prize! The pot sometimes crests $400, so keep that in mind.
We need at least 7 teams competing to put the quiz and money in play, though. So bring your trivia ringers! Get out on a Wednesday night and spirit yourself through the mid-point of the week with a pint and some intelligent laughs.
The Folk Jam follows.
