May 19: Open Mic

Open Mic at Merlins Rest in MplsTonight: Open Mic with Harrison Matthews
Time: 8:00/8:30 pm

Well now, that was an alright weekend, I have to say. And let me say that I’m glad to have arrived home in the Twin Cities after so many days of vagabonding about the middle of the country. Right!

Back to it: we sally forth on the normal course of things tonight with the Merlins Rest Open Mic. Catch it at 8/8:30 pm. It’s hosted by our good friend Harrison Matthews and it’s loads of fun. Definitely a fine way to infuse some creativity into the week, which can be essential on a Monday, as you know.

So lend your ear to it if you will, or perhaps even lend your voice and creative talent. Poems, stories, songs; guitars, tap shoes, whathave. It’s a spirited time. All are welcomed.

Tuesday nights have a new name, and that name is Misplaced. And, no, that’s not a clever misprint! The band name is Misplaced and they are gems. Pop in tomorrow to get a listen to this new Tuesday night fixture. Music starts at 9:00 pm.

Just to whet the appetite: Keep your eyes open, friends. Yer man Bill Watkins‘ trilogy-completing book, The Once and Future Celt, will be published shortly. We’ll have a reading and book release party later this month. Details: Forthcoming.

Stay tuned!

For those tracking the Doctor Who Meetup Group that meets here at Merlins on a monthly basis, the June meeting has been set for June 21 at 4:00 pm. Keep an eye on the group’s page for changes (and we’ll do the same!).
