April 24: the Beauty of the Blues and Whisky News

Tonight: Dino & the Dinosaurs (Blues)
Time: 9:00 pm

First thing’s first: thanks much to Britt for passing along this link to photos to an evening at Merlins. We appreciate you sharing them!

Right! Back to it. Rain? Ugh, but at least it isn’t snow. And as I see buds turning green and opening up on the trees outside I feel full of hope. What an odd thing, then, to seek the blues! But alas, this truly American genre of music–done so well, though, by a number of Brits, hey–is really quite pleasant. It may be music birthed of blues, but it chases them away.

Perfect for a rainy day, and perfect for a season of warming.

So join us tonight for Dino & the Dinosaurs at 9:00! It’s Thursday. It’s practically the weekend. Get out and treat yourself to a pie and pint, friends.

Fiona, aka the Whisky Wench, will lead the next Merlins Rest Single-Malt Whisky Tasting on Thursday, May 1, at 8:30 pm. This is a later start time than our previous tastings, so please take note of that.

The details: $25 flat fee to participate, 4 – 5 grand pours from our extensive stock. Give this community event a try, friends. It’s great fun and really really great whisky. And Fiona is a gem.

And this next tasting will have a guiding theme: “Whiskeys from Around the World.”
