April 11: Knitting Needles, Kilts & Celtic Music

Flannery Knitting at Merlins RestTonight: Kilt Night!
Live Celtic Music
Time: 8:00 pm

Every Friday night in the pub is Kilt Night and features live Celtic music. Session players from all over the Twin Cities are invited up, and this usually brings a musician block numbering between 5 and 15. It’s quite a sight and an absolutely lovely sound. Bodhrans, guitars, fiddles, fifes, Irish pipes and more.

Pop up for a pie and pint and give it a listen. Friday nights are grand here. We hope you’ll share part of your evening with us too.

Many of the members of a spirited knitting circle interact via the really fine website Ravelry. And if you poke about the web a bit you’ll actually find a really sizable and finely developed web community of knitters.

Every month or two we here at Merlins are lucky enough to host one of these groups here in the pub. It’s not unusual to see 25 or 30 of them gathered together, needles clicking, stories being shared, and pints a-pouring.

They’ll be here tonight between 4:00/4:30 and 7:00 pm.

Point being: we love this group. We think you will too. If you knit, consider getting involved. Stay creative!

We have new brunch hours! Starting April 12, we’ll open at 12:00 pm every Saturday. Traditional Irish breakfasts and classic American fare will be served through 2:00 pm.

On Sunday, we’ll open at 10:00 am for brunch.
