It’s Monday and we’re starting the week off with the Merlins Rest Open Mic! Join our friend Harrison Matthews this evening, circa 8 pm, for songs, stories, poems and so forth. Who’s providing them? That’s right: YOU! It’s a lovely weekly tradition. Check it out!

GREEN TIE EVENT

Yer man at the Irish Gazette, Jim Brooks, has forwarded the following Failte Minnesota annoucement about the upcoming Green Tie Gala:

Give Our History A Home……

Failte Minnesota invites you to a night of fine dining and entertainment to raise funds for an Irish Community Center to spotlight our local Irish heritage. The Second Annual Green Tie Gala is scheduled for November 17th from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the University Club’s Downtown Clubhouse, located at 340 Cedar St. in downtown St. Paul. The Gala features music, dancing and silent and live auctions. Tickets are $100 per person and available by visiting www.FailteMinnesota.org or by calling 651-455-1118. Honorary Co-Chairs of the event are Mayor Chris and First Lady Connie Coleman and Hennepin County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin and his wife Nancy Hylden. Guests who attended the First Annual Green Tie Gala called it the premier Irish event of the year, and the Second Annual Gala will prove to be even more exciting. Join us as we continue on the journey to give our history a home.
