Bedlam’s Birthday, Inflatable Pubs, and a London Mizzle

It’s Tuesday! The boys of Bedlam will be in the pub tonight to provide the good tunes. Come join us as we sail on in this gorgeous summer. PLUS: It’s the birthday of Bedlam’s John Sjogren!! Raise a pint and call out well-earned “Cheers!” to him.

(Thanks to Jalov of Fabulous Records for recommending the Cottage Pie at Merlins on his weekly email blast. A fine suggestion!)

Inflatable Pubs?

Yer man Chas has sent in a link about portable pubs. What an odd concept! I would definitely like to see these things filled with helium.

London in a Mizzle

No, not a muzzle. A mizzle. It continues to rain on Wimbledon, though they have been able to squeeze in a couple matches today, including the end of Amelie Mauresmo’s reign as champion. She was knocked out today by Czech teen Nicole Vaidisova.

What else is going on in the Isles?

* Candymaker Cadbury pleads GUILTY to hygiene violations. I’m going to keep a better eye on those eggs next Easter.

* Gordon the Tramp has become an internet success.

* Want free cooking lessons? Go to Scotland and break the law!

* And ever wonder what to do in Builth Wells, Wales? the home of our publican John Dingley?

Odd story

Not sure I like how this unfolds–eczema leads to a career in cheese-making?–but they do make Merlin Cheese in Wales.
