Thursday! We’re so close to the weekend, and look at this weather! Lovely.
Pop up to Merlins Rest tonight friends and enjoy some Irish ceili dancing (7 – 9) and the music of Tom Bradley (he’ll start sometime between 9 and 9:30). And why not have a bit of shepherd’s pie while you’re at it?
The (Spicy) News from the Isle
* The Spice Girls have announced a reunion and world tour.
* In Hartlepool, a 5-ft-high statue of the comic character Andy Capp has been unveiled. Capp’s trademark cigarette has been omitted from the bronze likeness, but they have nicely chosen to install it outside the well-named Harbour of Refuge Pub.
* Children in Newport, Wales have sent their mayor, Counsillor Alan Morris, a card bearing a hand-drawn likeness of him and descriptions of what they believe the mayor does. Noted one child, “He likes to eat sausages.” Probably does.
