It’s Bedlam on Tuesdays! And we like it that way.
May 22nd, 2007 by Merlin
Tuesday nights feature favorites Bedlam providing the good good tunes. Wonderful stuff–a blend of Irish and Scottish folk–and grand spirit. And we received a write up from Fabulous Records about last week’s Bedlam happenings–which included an appearance of the Minnesota Police Pipe Band.
Jalov writes:
“We have another night of fun scheduled at Merlins’ Rest tonight with Bedlam! If you got a chance to drop by last week, you got to listen to not only the boys and Anne, who has reclaimed her ‘e’ and who was sitting in for Lorraine, who was sitting in for Paul, but you also got a chance to listen to the Minnesota Police Pipe and Drum band who stopped by to play a few tunes (and stayed to drink a bit). And in the final set, we got treated to music from Paul of Paul and Lorraine fame, as well as the Drunken Uglies! If that’s what Tuesdays are going to bring, well, then you are in for a lot of fun.
“We did tape last week’s show, and it will be up on the website. The level on the vocals was up a bit much, so it doesn’t sound perfect, but if you are in the need for music, you can listen in. I promise, tonight we will get it better, and post a little earlier. Stop by for a pint (and remember the immortal words ‘Hey, I want to buy the band a round’). If you are in the mood for Guiniss Stew, stop by early, just to make sure you get some.”
Newsletter et. al
Fabulous Records provides a venue and energy for many bands. Their Web site is new and evolving quickly (Well done, friends!), and they offer an e-newsletter. Sign up on their home page.
As for the Minnesota Police Pipe Band, they are a pipe and drum corps that performs year-round in parades, concerts and competitions throughout the US and Canada. Also, MPPB serves the law enforcement and firefighting communities of Minnesota. Partners of the Emerald Society of Minnesota, Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association and the Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Association. Grand group. Visit them online (or in the pub!) and learn more about their organization, event appearances, and support opportunities.
See you tonight!
