Pipes, Fiddles and Horses - Thursday, May 3
May 3rd, 2007 by Merlin
Thursday night means two things: a session and some horse chatter.
The weekly Six O’Clock Session will take place…quite possibly at six, but you never know with musicians. Pipes, fiddles, bodhrans and other instruments appear. The players find an open spot in the pub and play Celtic music or whatever else the Muse calls for. It’s a grand sight and sound and will put you in a right fine mood.
Also, this Thursday, May 3, is the Kentucky Derby Selection Show! Mint Juleps will be on special and there will be a Ladies Hat Competition. Warm up for the weekend and the Derby’s fanfare with us as we horse around with horse racing.
Patrons interested in learning more about this year’s horses and race can speak to our resident experts John and Tony (and maybe even Gordy if we can shoehorn him away from his NYRA analysis). They’ll be dispensing information and strategies and perhaps even preview the Canterbury Park racing season that begins on Saturday (a.k.a., Derby Day).
So join us, horse around, and get in the proper spirit for this weekend’s Derby!
